Day 322 - Climbing Gym

Thought of the day: It is one of those rare rainy days in Colorado. It has been wet and cold all morning. After a warm and dry summer, I have gotten so used to the sun that I am having a hard time adjusting to this new weather condition. Afternoon thunderstorms are not uncommon in the summer but they tend to come and go really fast. The stormy weather is both dramatic and interesting unless you happen to be caught unprepared on the road or on hiking trails. What we have today is none of that. A couple of year ago we made the decision to move to Boulder instead of Portland despite the many similarities between the two cities. My sense of weariness today confirm for me that we made the right choice.

Day 260 - Cafe Sole

Thought of the day: When I was biking home with Lila today, a summer thunderstorm hit.  A sunny, happy experience was instantly transformed into a wet and somewhat scary one as I was scampering for shelter from the thunderous lightnings that sounded too close for comfort.  We did find shelter in a neighbor's garage before the downpour turned into hail.  We had some friendly conversations and headed home after the storm relented a bit. It was an unexpected but interesting experience.

Day 212 - Self

Thought of the day: The wet weather had definitely outlived its charm, if there was any to begin with.  Not a single person I talked to liked the rainy days of the past few weeks.  It's about time for the warm and sunny weather to come visit Boulder.

What else to take a picture of today?  I am tired of those rainy day pictures.
