Panda's Gift - by Jasmine

Once there was a wise panda.  She made bamboo sandals for the poor people.

One day she was walking in town and giving out bamboo sandals when suddenly...

"Stop!", yelled a greedy king, "Today is my birthday and everyone needs to give me a present.  Now why don't you give me those sandals in your hands?"

"I will only give them to the poor people even if you would offer me thousands of dollars."

"But sandals will keep my feet clean and make me happy."

"I will make you a pair of sandals when you give away all your stuff."  said the wise panda, "For every thing you give away, I will make your sandals prettier."

And the panda walked away.

The king went back to his throne and gave his merry-go-around to a park manager.  The park manager thanked the king and brought it to the kids.  The king was filled with joy.

Meanwhile, the panda made a pair of sandals.

Over three years had gone by before the king gave away all his things.  His feet were caked with mud but his heart was filled with joy.

Finally, the panda came with a pair of beautiful sandals and gave them to the king.  The king was surprised but then he remembered and he said "thank you".  Then he asked:

"Do you want to be the queen?"

"OK." said the panda and they walked into the castle together.

[The end.]
